The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha June 6, 2000 1) Quixana decided that he must become a knight after reading books about knights and medieval romances. The preparations he made for his new life was he cleaned and repaired his great grandfather's armor. He also needed a helmet, but his helmet didn't have a visor, and so he made that himself by cardboard. He also put bars across his eyes on his helmet. He had a horse, but his horse was old and so he tried to think of a name, and he thought of the name Rozinante. He also thought of a name for himself, and he called himself Don Quixote of La Mancha. Don Quixote found himself a peasant girl to be his lady, because a knight needs a lady to love. 2) Don Quixote finds Aldonza Lorenzo to serve. The true nature of the relationship is Don Quixote used to love her, but she didn't even know about it. 3) Don Quixote imagined the windmills to be giant people. Quixote's imaginings says that he is very creative, and he wanted to do noble deeds. Being noble is to serve god. The giant is evil, and he wanted save the countryside from the giant. His imaginaition was greater than his own eyes, which made him ludicrous. 4) In the battle of the windmills, the windmills flipped him off his horse. Sancho Panza helped Don Quixote back on his horse. Sancho Panza helped Quixote to remount for another attack because he was being loyal to Don Quixote and did what he was told. He obeyed Don Quixote. 5) I know a friend who thinks someday a director will discover her talent and put her in the main role on a movie, even though she never studied theater before or even practiced a play. I don't think it hurts anybody to be quixotic, so even though my friend is the way she is, I don't tend to hurt her. Being friendly and loyal to her is what a friend is for.
